Who are we?
We are Design for Change's Student Council batch of 2024, a group of children and teenagers from all around the world with a common goal: changing the world around us.

The Student Council acts as a platform for us, children, to voice our thoughts and opinions, and allows these viewpoints to be incorporated into the international I CAN movement with our very own story of change.
What is Message in a Bottle?
Our logo is inspired by the idea of a "Message in a Bottle," symbolizing hope that our message to reduce single-use plastics (SUPs) will be discovered and understood. The bottle, floating on water, represents this journey, carrying a rolled-up paper with the call to action. Made of glass, the bottle highlights alternatives to plastic. Blue symbolizes the ocean, while green represents nature, encouraging reflection on the environmental impact of our choices and inspiring positive change.
Our FIDS Process
FEEL
Full of enthusiasm we began the journey. Among different concerns, we chose environmental issues as the ones we felt most worried about. While we were investigating them in our respective countries, we identified that single-use plastic waste constitutes the majority of plastic pollution discarded in nature all over the world. The amount of plastic that we started to collect made us aware of how we have incorporated it into our lives, and for that reason we set ourselves a goal: reducing and repurposing single-use plastics.
IMAGINE
We started to brainstorm all the ideas we had and with lots of imagination a diverse variety of possible solutions came to light. Although it was not easy to decide, we ended up choosing ecobricks as our main solution, and accompanying it by a diverse source of awareness materials: a website.
DO
It was time to take action and avail our superpowers! We divided ourselves into small groups, each one with a specific task, and combining our skills, worked hard to achieve the solutions we had proposed. At the same time, we started to implement the ideas into our daily lives, and started creating our own ecobricks! We understood that change begins in ourselves.
SHARE
It was time to show the world what the Student Council from 2024 had done. That is how all of you, readers and spectators, are exploring our project, investigating our website and going through all our products. And the most important part: you are now aware of single-use plastics all around the world and how to address the issue, so that together, WE CAN DESIGN CHANGE!
